DSL Trouble Shooting
Things to check before you contact Terril Telephone about an issue with connecting to the internet or not being able to send or receive e-mails.
- Power cycle the modem. This is the small black box that we installed near your computer to bring you High Speed Internet and IPTV. As with any electronic device power cycling is required on occasion to allow the device to function properly. Power Cycling involves unplugging the modem from the electrical outlet for approximately 30 seconds and plugging it back in.
- If you are using a lap top and also use a router to make this connection, you will also need to power cycle the router, the same as the modem.
- Restart your computer.
- Check to see that all connections are securely plugged in
- Check Activity lights on the front of the modem.
